Blue Mountain College was founded in 1873 by Civil War Brigadier General Mark Perrin Lowrey. The 140+ year old co-educational institution has a stellar history of educating young women and men.
Characterized by a serene and peaceful setting, Blue Mountain College is located in the Town of Blue Mountain, Mississippi, on Highway 15 - fifteen miles north of US 78 and 23 miles south of US 72, approximately 40 miles from Tupelo, and 75 miles from Memphis. Ranked as one of the “Best Southern Regional Colleges” by US News & World Report, Blue Mountain College has been providing educational opportunities for students all around the region since 1873. The campus consists of 44 acres and 14 main campus buildings.

Blue Mountain College offers two Master of Education degrees: Elementary Education and Literacy/Reading K-12.
BMC is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Southern States Athletic Conference.
The athletic programs include men's and women's basketball, women's and men's cross country, baseball, softball and golf. The women's athletic program has been recognized as Champions of Character by the NAIA for the last ten years.
